A profound tragedy has gripped Adilabad district, where a young man took his own life on Tuesday, mere weeks after his wife’s death. Her passing, it is reported, followed a distressing domestic argument that occurred during the recent Dasara festival.
Jagtial police officials revealed the identities of the couple: Santhosh Allepu, 25, from Erddandiki village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, and Gangotri. The two, who were neighbours, had been in a four-year relationship before they married on September 26.
The tragic chain of events began on October 2, when Santhosh and Gangotri visited her parents for Dasara celebrations. A seemingly minor disagreement erupted during lunch; Santhosh reportedly criticized Gangotri’s mutton curry for being too spicy. Deeply distressed by this confrontation, Gangotri tragically ended her life later that same evening, according to the police.
Overwhelmed by grief and despair, Santhosh was profoundly disturbed by his wife’s death. He had moved to stay with his sister in Adilabad district a week prior, seeking solace. However, on Tuesday afternoon, while alone at his sister’s residence, he succumbed to his distress and also took his own life.
