A glimmer of hope has emerged for a critically ill migrant worker from Telangana, who is now en route to Hyderabad from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For over a week, Lokini Krishna Murthy, originally from Elkathurthy in the Husnabad assembly constituency, has been in a comatose state, receiving urgent medical care in a Riyadh hospital.
The 35-year-old software engineer suffered a severe brain-stem hemorrhage, which led to his critical condition and placement on ventilator support. His family faced an agonizing wait as they sought to bring him back home for continued care.
Desperate to repatriate his son, Krishna Murthy’s father, Suraiah, lodged an appeal four days ago through the ‘CM Pravasi Prajavani’ initiative in Hyderabad. This crucial step initiated the formal process for his son’s medical return.
Prompt and compassionate intervention played a key role in this medical repatriation. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar swiftly escalated the matter with the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and the Global Telangana Forum. Their combined efforts have successfully completed the necessary procedures, paving the way for Krishna Murthy’s much-anticipated arrival in Hyderabad.
