The much-awaited A. Ramachandran Museum, a tribute to the celebrated artist, is scheduled to open its doors at the Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Complex in Kollam on October 5, 2025. The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, will preside over the inauguration ceremony, set for 11 a.m.
Murali Cheeroth, the esteemed chairperson of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, confirmed that the museum will offer an extensive collection, encompassing the artist’s entire body of work. Visitors can look forward to exploring not only his renowned paintings but also his impressive sculptures, delicate ceramics, innovative stamp designs, and the charming children’s books he authored.
Museum Logo Unveiled
Adding to the excitement, the official logo for the museum was recently revealed in Thiruvananthapuram by Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas. The design draws inspiration from Ramachandran’s iconic painting, Song of the Simbal Tree.
The inauguration event is expected to draw a distinguished gathering, including Culture Minister Saji Cherian, Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal, Animal Husbandry Minister J. Chinchurani, Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar, as well as the artist’s wife, painter Tan Yuan Chameli, and their children, Rahul Ramachandran and Sujatha Ramachandran, among other notable personalities.
