In a notable gesture of international camaraderie, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has contributed the foreword to the Indian release of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s autobiography, titled “I Am Giorgia – My Roots, My Principles.” This upcoming memoir is set to offer readers insights into Meloni’s life, principles, and rise in the political arena.
According to reports, Prime Minister Modi, in his foreword, reflects on his extensive interactions with global leaders over the past decade. He observes that the narratives of these leaders often encapsulate universal themes, a sentiment he found reflected in Giorgia Meloni’s personal journey. This connection led him to refer to her book as “her Mann Ki Baat,” a fitting tribute that echoes the title of his own widely acclaimed radio broadcast.
Highlighting the resonance of Meloni’s experiences with Indian values, PM Modi expressed in the book, “Prime Minister Meloni’s life and leadership remind us of these timeless truths… It will be well received (in India) as a refreshing story of an outstanding contemporary political leader and a patriot… Her belief in defending one’s cultural heritage, while engaging with the world on equal terms, mirrors our own values.”
Beyond appreciating her political leadership, Prime Minister Modi also conveyed his “respect and admiration” for Meloni, characterizing her as a “patriot.” This endorsement underscores a shared understanding of national identity and global engagement between the two leaders.
