The Cyberabad Women & Children Safety Wing’s SHE Teams recently concluded an intensive week-long operation, from September 21 to 27, leading to the apprehension of 27 individuals for inappropriate public conduct. This initiative involved 140 decoy operations designed to identify and address such offenses.
Those apprehended faced minor charges and subsequently received counseling. Beyond these operations, the teams actively responded to 21 complaints lodged by women victims across various communication channels.
Further strengthening their outreach, the Wing conducted 74 awareness programs throughout Cyberabad and hosted four dedicated counseling sessions. Their Family Counselling Centre also provided crucial support to 23 families grappling with domestic issues, aiming for reconciliation between partners.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) made significant strides, filing two cases under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act in Narsingi and Allapur police stations. These efforts led to the rescue of four victims and the arrest of three suspects. Additionally, separate night raids in Gachibowli and Narsingi resulted in the apprehension of eleven transgenders.
The ‘Suraksha Kavach’ program saw the successful organization of a College Safety Workshop, spearheaded by DCP K. Surjana. Collaborating with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council’s Children and Youth Forum, the workshop covered vital topics such as cyber safety, mental well-being, substance abuse prevention, and both physical and road safety, empowering the younger generation with essential knowledge.
