Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president J.P. Nadda didn’t hold back, declaring that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government has squandered a decade of Kerala’s potential through poor governance.
During the BJP State committee meeting held in Kollam on Saturday (September 27, 2025), Mr. Nadda asserted that Kerala had seen no meaningful development under the LDF’s watch. He accused the government of being riddled with corruption, highlighting that those in positions of power are directly implicated. “Cases are being filed, and the guilty will not escape justice. Stern action awaits the corrupt,” he stated firmly.
Further emphasizing the state’s plight, Nadda pointed out Kerala’s alarming 29% unemployment rate among individuals under 30 – the highest in the entire country. He attributed this economic hardship to the LDF’s administrative failures, contrasting it with the development observed in Kerala, which he credited solely to the initiatives of the Modi-led Union government. “Significant progress in highways, railways, and airports in Kerala is a direct result of the Indian Government’s substantial investments in the state’s growth,” the BJP president explained.
Mr. Nadda also criticized the LDF government for its reluctance to acknowledge the military actions carried out during ‘Operation Sindoor.’
Addressing the long-standing demand for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala, he reassured the public, “Kerala will indeed receive an AIIMS. It will be established at the opportune moment and in the most suitable location.”
Nadda passionately argued that only the BJP is truly committed to fostering a developed Kerala. He highlighted a shift in national sentiment, noting, “Before 2014, anti-incumbency was common. Now, with the National Democratic Alliance at the Centre, we observe a new phenomenon: pro-incumbency. We currently have a responsive, responsible, and accountable government at the Centre, focused on pro-people policies and excellent governance. Our aspiration is to replicate this success in Kerala.”
Concluding his address, he lauded the transformational initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, including the successful implementation of the next-generation Goods and Services Tax (GST). “BJP rule has propelled India to become the world’s fourth-largest economy, and we are rapidly moving towards becoming the third largest. Despite global economic challenges, India’s economy remains robust and resilient,” he affirmed.
