Mahesh Kumar Goud, the TPCC chief and an MLC, has issued a compelling call to Youth Congress leaders: launch an extensive ‘Vote Chori’ (Vote Theft) signature campaign across every village. The goal is to ignite widespread public awareness regarding alleged electoral malpractice.
During a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Goud asserted that such ‘vote theft’ fundamentally undermines India’s democratic principles and its Constitution. He highlighted how Rahul Gandhi initially exposed these alleged irregularities, suggesting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term might have been secured through these very means.
In a direct response to these concerns and following directions from the All India Congress Committee (AICC), the TPCC is spearheading a signature campaign in every village. Their target is to collect a minimum of 100 signatures from each locality, symbolizing a collective stand to safeguard democracy.
Goud further alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured eight Member of Parliament seats in Telangana through similar ‘vote theft’. He questioned why Bandi Sanjay Kumar had remained silent on these serious accusations.
He specifically pointed out that the BJP’s alleged electoral malpractices contributed to Etala Rajender gaining an additional 3 lakh votes. Goud concluded by stating that a significant 80% of the population across the country now believes that vote theft indeed occurred.
