In a significant crackdown on illicit drug trade, the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE) police unit has successfully apprehended a notorious drug smuggler, D. Durga Rao. During a recent operation, authorities confiscated a substantial quantity of MDMA pills, weighing a total of 13 grams.
The arrest followed a precise intelligence tip-off, leading EAGLE officers to act swiftly on Saturday. While Durga Rao was taken into custody, a second individual identified as K. Nagaraju, who is known to be a ‘rowdy sheeter,’ remains at large and is currently being sought by the police. Investigations reveal that the suspects were involved in a cross-state drug operation, transporting MDMA from Bengaluru directly into Vijayawada. Following the seizure and initial arrest, the case, including the confiscated narcotics and the apprehended individual, has been officially transferred to the Nunna police for further legal proceedings and continued investigation.
