Ballari Deputy Commissioner K. Nagendra Prasad has issued firm directives to officials and enumerators, emphasizing the urgent need to accelerate the ongoing Social and Educational Survey within the district.
During a review meeting held on Friday, Mr. Prasad highlighted that Ballari’s survey progress is noticeably behind that of its neighboring districts.
“Time is of the essence,” he stressed, “Every enumerator, supervisor, master trainer, and Block Education Officer must demonstrate enhanced dedication and efficiency to ensure our district ranks among the top five in terms of completion.”
The Deputy Commissioner voiced his dissatisfaction with reports indicating that several enumerators had failed to log into their mobile applications or conduct household visits. He instructed tahsildars to promptly contact these staff members, issue precise directions, and initiate disciplinary action if they continue to be non-compliant.
Furthermore, Mr. Prasad made it unequivocally clear that no leave, including for festivals or school holidays, would be granted to enumerators until the survey is fully concluded. “Everyone must participate without fail,” he warned.
To address any logistical hurdles, the officer confirmed that village assistants would provide comprehensive support, including assistance with identifying households, travel arrangements, and ensuring access to food and drinking water. Should enumerators encounter any technical problems with logging in, they are required to report these issues to officials immediately.
Mr. Prasad also mandated that in villages experiencing persistent network issues, special camps should be organized at gram panchayat offices, adhering strictly to the backward classes commission’s guidelines.
“Necessary staff and equipment will be provided. Families must be informed well in advance to ensure their attendance and accurate registration of their details,” he added.
Of particular concern to Mr. Prasad were reports that enumerators were denied entry to areas like Jindal Township, Vaddu, and Shankar Gudda colonies in Toranagallu of Sandur taluk. He ordered the tahsildar to serve official notices to the respective company management, compelling them to permit survey work.
Finally, he underscored the critical role of Block Education Officers (BEOs) in conducting daily supervision of both enumerators and supervisors. “Through collective cooperation, we must propel our district forward and ensure the resounding success of this vital survey,” he concluded emphatically.
