The exceptional Under-19 girls’ kho-kho team from Sree Narayana Public School, located in Elappully, has emerged victorious, securing the coveted CBSE national championship title. The thrilling tournament took place at Avadh International School in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Their path to national glory began earlier in August when they triumphed in the CBSE cluster-level championship, hosted at Vyasa Vidya Peethom, Kallekkad, which earned them their spot in this prestigious national competition.
The team’s remarkable success is largely attributed to the dedicated coaching of their physical education teacher, K.G. Rejeesh, a former national kho-kho player himself. Following this impressive win, the champions are now gearing up to represent their school at the 69th national school games, an event organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), scheduled to be held in Madhya Pradesh this December.
C. Balan, the president of Sree Narayana Educational Society, proudly acknowledged the victory, emphasizing that it was a testament to the combined dedication and collective effort of the entire school community, including the management, teachers, students, and the parent-teacher association (PTA).
