The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has celebrated a significant triumph in the Kannur University Senate elections, capturing an impressive seven out of ten seats within the highly contested General Council of University Union constituency. In a notable outcome, the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) managed to secure the remaining three seats, leaving the Kerala Students Union (KSU) without any representation.
The triumphant SFI candidates include K.V. Swathi Pradeepan and Amal Pavanan, both representing the Thaliparamba Institute of Public Policy and Leadership. K.V. Roshin emerged victorious from the Manjeswaram Department of Law, School of Legal Studies, while M. Anurag won from Pazhayangadi Co-operative Arts and Science College. P. Amalraj secured a seat for Dr. Janaki Ammal Campus, Kannur University, with Arya M. Babu representing Kanhangad Nehru Arts and Science College, and K.K. Varun from Mangattuparamba Campus, Department of Environmental Studies.
Meanwhile, the MSF saw success with its panel members P. Abdulsalam, K. Munavir, and C.H. Syed Thaha claiming their respective seats.
In the wake of their significant win, SFI organized spirited celebrations across Kannur city. The festivities included addresses from prominent leaders such as Central Committee member Bipinraj Payam, alongside State Committee members K. Pranav, T. Joyal, T.P. Akhila, and Sarath Raveendran, who shared their thoughts with the jubilant gathering.
