District Collector A. Siri and Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil recently held a crucial review meeting with key officials and village leaders to finalize preparations for the renowned Devaragattu Banni festival. Scheduled for Dasara night in Devaragattu village, this vibrant event is expected to draw over three lakh devotees. The primary focus of the discussion was ensuring both the safety and robust infrastructure for all attendees.
Collector Dr. Siri issued clear directives, emphasizing that all government departments must be fully prepared at least two days ahead of the festival. She specifically called for immediate road repairs, improved lighting, and a continuous power supply. Comprehensive medical camps, complete with qualified staff, essential medicines, and ambulance services, are to be strategically placed at all critical points. Furthermore, Dr. Siri stressed that providing clean drinking water, maintaining sanitation, efficient traffic management, and robust security protocols are paramount.
Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil appealed to the local village committees to uphold a peaceful atmosphere while honoring the festival’s traditions. To guarantee stringent security, he announced the deployment of over 100 CCTV cameras and advanced drones. Additionally, a temporary mobile phone tower is being installed to ensure uninterrupted communication throughout the event, further enhancing safety and coordination.
The meeting saw participation from a wide range of senior officials, including Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj, alongside representatives from the Revenue, Police, Roads and Buildings, Rural Water Works, Medical and Health, Forest, and Panchayat Raj Departments, all working together for a successful festival.
