The eagerly awaited framing of charges in the Renukaswamy murder case, originally slated for Thursday, has been put off until next week. This postponement occurred because one of the co-accused, identified as Lakshman, submitted a discharge application. In his plea, Lakshman vehemently asserted that he has been wrongly implicated and requested that all charges against him be dropped.
The court has decided to address Lakshman’s application before moving forward with the formal process of framing charges. Meanwhile, during their appearance via video conference, actor Darshan and other individuals accused in the case raised concerns that the prison department is failing to provide facilities in accordance with the prison manual, despite a prior court order.
Darshan specifically stated that he remains confined to a quarantine cell with limited space, poor lighting, and is not permitted outdoor walks, directly contradicting the court’s earlier directives. Taking these serious submissions into account, the court has instructed prison officials to appear at the next hearing and provide a thorough explanation regarding the alleged lack of provisions.
