Andhra Pradesh Welcomes Over 15,000 New Teachers, CM Naidu Pledges Annual Recruitment Drives

On Thursday, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu officially welcomed 15,941 newly recruited teachers into service, distributing their appointment orders at a significant public gathering held near the Secretariat in Amaravati. This grand event marked the successful completion of the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment drive.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the Chief Minister proudly highlighted that this extensive recruitment was finalized despite facing 106 legal challenges. He underscored the profound importance of the teaching profession, stating, “Teaching is more than just a job; it’s a vital responsibility to educate and empower our students, who represent the future of our society.”

Mr. Naidu also reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to job creation, announcing an ambitious target of 20 lakh new jobs for Andhra Pradesh by 2029. He noted that memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth an impressive ₹10 lakh crore in investments have already been signed. Emphasizing the qualitative aspect of learning, he added, “Education must be rooted in values, reflecting the ethical bedrock of our nation.”

A significant announcement was the appointment of Chaganti Koteswara Rao as the State’s new education advisor. The Chief Minister passionately urged the newly inducted teachers to recognize and nurture the unique talents of each student, guiding them towards achieving excellence in their chosen paths.

Key Government Initiatives for Educational Advancement

Detailing his government’s progressive reforms in the education sector, Mr. Naidu mentioned several key initiatives. These include the ‘One Class, One Teacher’ policy, the ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ program, significant enhancements to school infrastructure, the introduction of ‘no bag day’ on Saturdays to foster holistic development, and a strong focus on motivating students beyond traditional academics, alongside the timely distribution of textbooks before each academic year commences.

Critiquing the previous YSRCP government, he alleged that their negligence had severely compromised the education system, leading to a massive exodus of 10 lakh students from government to private institutions. Mr. Naidu asserted, “Educational standards plummeted during the YSRCP’s tenure. Their ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme largely existed only on paper, and the hurried implementation of English medium instruction caused considerable disruption to the existing system.”

He stressed his vision for Andhra Pradesh to transform into a “knowledge economy,” emphasizing that robust primary education would serve as its fundamental cornerstone.

To ensure transparency and consistent recruitment, Mr. Naidu pledged that Direct Recruitment (DSC) notifications for teacher vacancies would be issued annually.

The Chief Minister fondly recollected the crucial role teachers played in shaping his own political journey and expressed immense pride in the significant number of women who secured employment in this latest recruitment drive. He also credited his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, for her guidance in his son Lokesh’s educational achievements.

BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav highlighted that Chief Minister Naidu’s very first official act was signing the DSC file, emphasizing the high priority the NDA government places on education.

Fostering Global Perspectives for Teachers

HRD Minister Nara Lokesh articulated an ambitious vision for Andhra Pradesh’s education model to become a global standard. He committed to providing the best teachers with opportunities for international exposure to study global educational practices and urged the Chief Minister to consider legislation promoting gender sensitivity. Expressing personal pride, he remarked, “I feel incredibly blessed to serve as a Minister overseeing teacher recruitment. Our family, for three generations – my grandfather, my father, and now myself – has had the privilege of contributing to teacher recruitment in our State.”

Following the conclusion of the Assembly session, MLAs, MLCs, and various Ministers joined the event, collectively extending their support and offering encouragement to the newly appointed educators.
