The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has successfully apprehended two government officials – mandal surveyor R. Satyanarayana and junior assistant K. Nagesh – from the Munagada Tahsildar Office in Visakhapatnam. The duo was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000.
According to an official statement released by the ACB, the officials had illicitly demanded the bribe from a complainant. The payment was allegedly sought in exchange for performing a fresh survey of the complainant’s property and subsequently issuing the required certificate.
The operation unfolded after the ACB received a crucial tip-off via their dedicated toll-free helpline, 1064. Following this complaint, Visakhapatnam ACB officers meticulously planned and executed a trap, leading to the arrest of Satyanarayana and Nagesh at the Punjab Hotel Junction, near Mahat Colony, on Thursday. Both individuals are now slated to be presented before the ACB Special Court in Visakhapatnam for further legal proceedings.
