Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar announced that a significant sum of ₹75.30 lakh has been approved for compensation to victims of various atrocities across Yadgir district.
This announcement was made during a crucial review and awareness meeting held in Yadgir on Wednesday, highlighting the administration’s commitment to justice.
Mr. Bhoyar detailed that between January 1 and September 22, 2025, there have been 69 reported victims of atrocities. Out of these, 57 individuals belong to Scheduled Castes, and the remaining are from Scheduled Tribes.
He urged departmental officers to intensify efforts in educating the public about the severe legal repercussions of committing atrocities and to take decisive action against the practice of untouchability.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the critical need to ensure that all eligible Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes receive their entitlements without delay under various protective measures, including the Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP).
“There shouldn’t be any delay in reaching benefits to them,” he firmly stated, underscoring the urgency of the matter.
Bhoyar also instructed officers to promptly submit comprehensive progress reports on projects funded by the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB), as well as those utilizing State and Central government grants.
