In a tragic turn of events, a 39-year-old man receiving treatment for drug addiction was brutally murdered at a rehabilitation center in Miyapur on Wednesday night, September 24, 2025.
The victim, identified as Sandeep, hailed from Piduguralla in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district. He had been a resident of the Rapha Rehabilitation Centre in Miyapur for the past eight months, seeking recovery and a fresh start.
According to police reports, Sandeep was allegedly attacked by two other patients, Adil from Nalgonda and Suleman from Barkas, both of whom had been at the facility for approximately one month.
Miyapur Police Inspector P. Shiva Prasad confirmed that a violent altercation erupted among the three individuals late in the evening, culminating in Adil and Suleman’s assault on Sandeep, which tragically resulted in his death.
Upon discovering the incident, the center’s staff immediately notified the authorities, who promptly arrived at the scene.
A formal case has been registered under Section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, pertaining to punishment for murder. The two accused individuals have since been taken into custody. Sandeep’s body has been transported to Gandhi Hospital for a comprehensive postmortem examination, as the police continue their thorough investigation into this distressing event.
