The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Commissioner, M. Maheshwar Rao, issued a clear directive on Wednesday: a crucial social and educational survey within GBA limits must begin without delay. This initiative aims to gather vital data across the region.
During a virtual session of the Backward Classes Commission, the GBA Chief instructed enumerators from various departments to start their fieldwork promptly, immediately following their essential training at their respective urban corporations.
Mr. Rao stressed the importance of cohesive efforts, stating that the survey requires close coordination among all civic departments. He also highlighted the critical role of ASHA workers, who will receive specific training from certified instructors to assist in the process. To maintain quality and oversight, nodal officers have been appointed to supervise the survey, and corporation commissioners are tasked with inspecting training sites. Mr. Rao also delivered a firm caution, indicating that non-participation or failure to cooperate would lead to disciplinary action under the Survey Act.
Further emphasizing the commitment to accuracy, GBA Special Commissioner Munish Moudgil announced that additional enumerators are being deployed. He added that meticulous ward-level plans have been developed to ensure the precision of the data collected. Regular, random checks will also be performed throughout the exercise to monitor its progress and uphold data integrity.
