On Wednesday, the Telangana Excise department conducted a series of intensified operations targeting the illegal transport of non-duty paid liquor (NDPL). These coordinated efforts led to the seizure of 234 liquor bottles and the arrest of two individuals.
During vehicle inspections in the Shamshabad area, officials successfully intercepted several consignments of illicit liquor. The contraband, originating from states like Goa, Lucknow, and Haryana, was being illegally transported into Telangana.
From these intercepted vehicles, a significant haul of 220 liquor bottles was recovered. Subsequently, a case was registered against an individual named Arugari for these serious violations of excise regulations.
Meanwhile, a separate operation by the State Task Force-C team in Malkajgiri resulted in the seizure of an additional 14 liquor bottles from Shaik Azharuddin.
Authorities confirm that further investigations into these illicit activities are currently in progress.
