This early morning marathon, a cherished annual tradition during Navaratri, is thoughtfully organized by Shiva Pratisthan Hindustan. The run commenced with a spirited flag-off by MLIRC Commandant Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee on the third day of Navaratri this past Wednesday, setting a vibrant tone for the festivities.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both military personnel and their families, who ran alongside local residents. This collective endeavor beautifully showcased a blend of devotion, discipline, and community spirit.
The marathon itself was a journey through faith and heritage, starting from the newly renovated Shiv Teerth near the revered Military Mahadev Temple. The air vibrated with fervent chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ as participants embarked on a route that wove through Belagavi’s significant religious and historical sites. This unique procession instilled the city with a powerful sense of martial energy and deep cultural pride.
