This year, the much-anticipated Dasara Exhibition is extending a grand welcome to visitors with an array of exciting new attractions!
Following an extensive pre-festival renovation, the Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA), responsible for organizing this vibrant three-month-long exhibition and amusement fair, has unveiled several fresh features. The undeniable showstopper is a magnificent musical fountain, where visitors can delight in a mesmerizing display of water dancing gracefully amidst brilliant, dazzling lights.
More than just a local highlight, the Dasara Exhibition is a cornerstone of the Dasara festival, drawing crowds not only from Mysuru but also from surrounding districts who eagerly anticipate this annual event. Beyond a vast selection of stalls offering everything from exquisite handicrafts and textiles to playful toys, the expo proudly hosts various government departments, corporations, and boards. These displays provide an insightful look into their latest schemes and initiatives, enriching the visitor experience.
With the exhibition slated to continue until the end of the year, even more exciting additions are expected to be introduced, ensuring a steady stream of visitors long after the Dasara festivities officially conclude. This year, a significant improvement is the high occupancy rate of stalls; over 150 stalls in ‘A’ Block alone are bustling with activity, a welcome change from previous years where many often remained vacant during the inauguration.
Visitors will also notice that certain sections of the exhibition grounds have been beautifully redesigned, drawing inspiration from the elegant ‘Halebid style’ of architecture. Thanks to crucial funding from the State government, the KEA has successfully revitalized the exhibition stalls, giving them a fresh, inviting aesthetic.
Looking beyond the immediate festival, the KEA intends to keep the musical fountain operating every evening throughout the year. By introducing a modest entry fee, they aim to generate sustainable revenue from this popular attraction. This new musical spectacle replaces the older water fountains, significantly enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Furthermore, the KEA has forward-thinking plans to utilize the exhibition grounds throughout the non-Dasara months. They propose renting out the premises to foster a dynamic hub for arts, crafts, and the promotion of local culture and traditions, while also actively encouraging private organizations to host their own expos and events. This strategic approach promises year-round engagement and economic activity for the region.
