Pune’s racing circuit was abuzz on Wednesday, September 24, as several horses delivered standout performances during their morning exercises. Among those that truly caught the eye were Evaldo, Come September, Gunsmoke, and Charlie Brown, each showcasing impressive form and potential.
Inner Sand – 600m: Kicking off the morning’s workouts, Between Friends, ridden by P. Dhebe, clocked a comfortable 38 seconds, moving with impressive freedom. Vincero (Aditya) followed suit with an easy 42 seconds, as did It’s My Time (Akram), finishing in a relaxed 41 seconds.
800m: The 800-meter drills saw Midnight Express (Parmar) looking sharp, completing the distance in 49 seconds, with a 600m split of 38, indicating good fitness. Miracle Of Hanukah (Mosin) showcased a strong run, finishing three lengths ahead of Eleven Eleven (Shubham) with a time of 52 seconds (600m in 37). Seneca (Sandesh) and Claude (Vikram) moved effortlessly together, clocking 55 seconds (600m in 42). Finch (Bhawani) worked freely, finishing in 52 seconds (600m in 38), while Merchant Of Venice (Ramswarup) demonstrated good form at 50 seconds (600m in 38). The pair of Escape Velocity (Ramswarup) and Machiavellian (Vikram) had an easy session at 56 seconds (600m in 42). Adonis (S.J. Sunil) moved freely in 52 seconds (600m in 39). Abhyankar (S.J. Sunil) and Donatella (Gore) ran a free and level race, both clocking 50 seconds (600m in 37). Esperanza (Ramswarup) was particularly noteworthy, responding well to finish in 50 seconds (600m in 36). Continental Drift (Vikram) and Sands Of Dubai (Santosh) also moved level and freely at 54 seconds (600m in 40).
1000m: In the 1000-meter category, Come September (Mustakim) truly impressed, clocking 1 minute 3 seconds (800m in 49, 600m in 38). Riptide (C.S. Jodha) and Crystal Clear (Neeraj) ran neck and neck with ease, finishing in 1 minute 5 seconds (800m in 51, 600m in 38). Coeur De Lion (Mustakim) was urged towards the end, completing the distance in 1 minute 4 seconds (800m in 50, 600m in 38). Spanish Eyes (Sandesh) worked well at 1 minute 5 seconds (800m in 51, 600m in 39), and Irish Gold (Akram) put in a good effort at 1 minute 4 seconds (800m in 50, 600m in 38). 1200m: Eagle Eye (Sai Kiran) had an easy run in the 1200-meter segment, finishing in 1 minute 26 seconds (600m in 43). Charlie Brown (Hamir) started two lengths behind Speak The Breed (C.S. Jodha) but impressively closed the gap to finish level, both clocking 1 minute 20 seconds (1000m in 1-5, 800m in 51, 600m in 38). Gunsmoke (Yash) showed good response, completing the distance in 1 minute 20 seconds (1000m in 1-6, 800m in 52, 600m in 39). Regina Memorabilis (Neeraj) demonstrated a strong surge, making up three lengths to comfortably finish three lengths ahead of Dream Alliance (C.S. Jodha), both at 1 minute 19 seconds (1000m in 1-5, 800m in 51, 600m in 38).
Gate Practice – Inner Sand: In gate practice, Evaldo, ridden by ‘rb’, delivered an impressive performance over 1000m, clocking 1 minute 2 seconds (800m in 48, 600m in 37). The horse jumped out exceptionally well and finished a significant distance ahead of Sky Full Of Stars (Shubham), leaving a strong impression. Brave Beauty (Bhawani) also had a nice workout, finishing in 1 minute 7 seconds (800m in 51, 600m in 38).
