In a stellar display of consistency, India’s cricketing aces – dynamic all-rounder Hardik Pandya, enigmatic spinner Varun Chakravarthy, and explosive opener Abhishek Sharma – have successfully defended their top spots in the latest ICC T20 International rankings, announced on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
Varun Chakravarthy, having recently climbed to the top of the bowling charts, further cemented his supremacy. He added an impressive 14 rating points, boosting his total to a commanding 747 points, highlighting his growing influence in the format.
Pakistan’s spin wizard, Abrar Ahmed, continued his remarkable ascent. After a significant 11-place surge last week, he notched up another substantial jump, moving up an additional 12 spots in the rankings.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s experienced left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman made a strong comeback to the top 10, climbing six positions. This resurgence follows a brief dip in form and is attributed to his excellent performance, securing six crucial wickets with an average of just eight runs in his two recent tournament appearances.
Hardik Pandya, who remains unchallenged at the pinnacle of the all-rounder rankings, also saw improvements in his bowling. He advanced six places, now sitting comfortably at the 60th spot among T20I bowlers.
On the batting front, opening sensation Abhishek Sharma continued his reign as the world’s number one T20I batter, securing additional rating points. His recent exploits include a rapid 38 runs against Oman in India’s final group match, followed by a sensational match-winning knock of 74 that spearheaded India’s successful chase of Pakistan’s 171 on Sunday.
Rising star Tilak Varma, instrumental in closing out the Pakistan chase with an electrifying 30 runs from just 19 balls, climbed one spot to claim the coveted No. 3 position in the batting rankings.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav also showed upward movement, gaining a place and now hovering just outside the top five, poised to break into the elite bracket.
From the Pakistani camp, Sahibzada Farhan’s aggressive 58-run innings off 45 deliveries, which provided a crucial impetus in their match, propelled him 31 places up to the 24th rank.
In a truly remarkable leap, Hussain Talat, whose composed performance secured a victory for Pakistan against Sri Lanka, soared an astonishing 1474 places, landing him at a joint 234th position in the men’s T20I batting rankings.
Another notable mover was Saif Hassan, whose impressive 61-run contribution ensured Bangladesh’s winning start in the Asia Cup Super Fours. His efforts saw him gain 133 places, now comfortably placed at the 81st spot in the batting charts.
