In a comprehensive security exercise, law enforcement agencies meticulously swept the entire stretch from Renigunta airport to the revered Tirumala hills on Tuesday. This rigorous drill was a critical preparatory step for the anticipated arrival of India’s Vice-President, C.P. Radhakrishnan, and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to the sacred hill town.
The designated VVIP route was thoroughly barricaded and continuously monitored to prevent any unauthorized entry. Advanced CCTV cameras and specially deployed drones provided uninterrupted, round-the-clock aerial surveillance, leaving no stone unturned in ensuring security.
To minimize disruption for commuters and devotees, traffic police expertly mapped out alternative routes, efficiently redirecting regular traffic flow during the movement of the high-profile convoy through the city.
Securing the Ghat Roads
Specialized police teams, including dedicated bomb disposal units, anti-sabotage squads, and highly trained dog squads, conducted exhaustive inspections of the Tirumala ghat road – the primary access route to the hilltop for the VIPs. These expert teams also thoroughly combed the adjacent Seshachalam forest areas, paying particular attention to bridges, culverts, and other potential gathering points, especially those popular with trekking devotees. Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu personally oversaw the readiness of rescue, medical, and fire safety teams. Addressing the media, he affirmed the department’s full preparedness to manage the dignitary visit, which auspiciously coincides with the commencement of the annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams festival.
