In a remarkable display of academic excellence, eight distinguished faculty members and scientists from KLE Technological University (KLETU) in Hubballi have earned a coveted spot on the global list of the top 2% most influential scientists. This prestigious recognition, compiled collaboratively by Stanford University and Elsevier, highlights their significant impact on worldwide research in 2025.
The rigorous selection process for this international honor relies on a comprehensive methodology. Researchers are evaluated based on crucial metrics including their total publications, citation counts, h-index, a co-authorship adjusted hm-index, and a unique composite score (c-Score). These assessments span an impressive 22 diverse scientific disciplines, ensuring a broad and thorough evaluation of global talent.
According to a release from KLE Technological University, the esteemed list features a total of 18,477 scientists from around the world, with a commendable 1,566 hailing from India, underscoring the nation’s growing contributions to global scientific advancement.
Notably, this marks the sixth consecutive year that researchers from KLETU have consistently achieved this elite recognition, showcasing a sustained commitment to high-impact research.
The exceptional individuals from KLETU honored as among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists include: Dr. Tejraj M. Aminabhavi, Dr. Nagaraj P. Shetti, Dr. Mohanakrishna Gunda, Dr. Shweta Malode, Dr. Prabhugouda M. Patil, and Dr. Sharanabasava V. Ganachari from the School of Advanced Sciences, alongside Dr. Vinayak Gaitonde and Dr. Nagaraj Banapurmath from the School of Mechanical Engineering.
This global ranking is bifurcated into two significant categories: the ‘Single-Year Impact List,’ which assesses a scientist’s publications and influence solely within the year 2025, and the ‘Career Impact List,’ which recognizes their profound contributions and lasting influence throughout their entire professional lifetime.
A testament to their consistent and long-term excellence, Professors Aminabhavi, Shetti, Gaitonde, and Patil have distinguished themselves by appearing on both the prestigious ‘Career Impact List’ and the ‘Single-Year Impact List.’
Further highlighting sustained dedication, Professors Aminabhavi and Shetti have achieved this recognition for an impressive sixth year in a row, while Professor Gunda has been featured for the fifth consecutive year.
Adding to this remarkable consistency, Professor Malode has also earned a place on the list for the fourth successive year.
Prabhakar Kore, Chairman of the KLE Society, expressed immense pride in this achievement, stating, “Their groundbreaking contributions in the fields of science and engineering consistently elevate KLE Technological University’s reputation on a global scale.”
The Pro Chancellor of KLETU, Ashok Shettar, along with Vice-Chancellor Prakash Tewari and other senior faculty members, extended heartfelt congratulations to these exceptional achievers for their outstanding accomplishments.
