On Monday, September 22, 2025, Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s extraordinary ability to achieve the impossible, emphasizing the Prime Minister’s strong rapport with influential global leaders. He noted that figures such as former U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping have all spoken of their friendly ties with PM Modi.
During an event commemorating the release of two volumes of speeches by the Prime Minister, Radhakrishnan recounted how, despite significant trade challenges like the U.S. imposing a 50% tariff on India, Donald Trump consistently referred to Modi as a “great friend.”
The Vice-President further elaborated that Chinese President Xi Jinping also maintains positive relations with Prime Minister Modi, transcending differences often seen in international politics.
Speaking at his first official public engagement since taking office, Mr. Radhakrishnan reiterated, “Even when America levied a 50% duty on India, Trump consistently affirmed, ‘Modi ji is my great friend.’ He never expressed opposition to Modi, always emphasizing his support.” He also highlighted the Prime Minister’s strong bond with Russian President Putin.
“Furthermore,” Radhakrishnan added, “despite the complexities of international politics, President Xi also considers Modi ji a good friend, a dynamic we witness regularly.” He firmly concluded that this unique ability to build bridges is precisely “why he makes the impossible possible.” Describing Modi’s leadership style, the Vice-President emphasized that the Prime Minister acts with genuine sincerity for the benefit of the common people, without any expectation of personal gain.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, also present at the event, commented that the Prime Minister effectively communicates and advocates for the general populace, truly speaking “the language of the people.”
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, drew a contrast between past government initiatives, which he described as mere “band-aid” solutions, and the transformative approach under Prime Minister Modi. He stated that since Modi assumed power, there has been a significant shift in mindset, leading to a much broader and more impactful outreach of government schemes.
Vaishnaw concluded by asserting that Prime Minister Modi views politics as a means for genuine public service, ensuring that every decision he makes is ultimately driven by the collective welfare and greater good of society.
