The Thiruvananthapuram City Police are putting essential traffic regulations into effect this Monday to facilitate the upcoming Navaratri procession. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
The much-anticipated procession, carrying the sacred Navaratri idols, is expected to enter the city from Pallichal at approximately 11:00 AM. It will then continue its journey from Nemom around noon, aiming to reach the historic Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple by 8:00 PM.
These comprehensive traffic arrangements will be enforced across all city roads between 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM, coinciding with the procession’s movement.
According to an official police statement, parking will be strictly prohibited along the entire stretch between Killipalam and Pallichal. Additionally, vehicles traveling between Killipalam and Pallichal, and also between Pallichal and Karamana, will be restricted to a single lane. All drivers are strongly urged to exercise extreme caution and maintain reduced speeds in these areas.
Furthermore, all vehicles, including ambulances and other emergency services, approaching the city from Balaramapuram and Pallichal should completely avoid the Killipalam-Pallichal route. Instead, these vehicles must use the designated bypass road. Commercial goods vehicles will also be barred from using this route during the specified hours.
