A wave of joy swept through KBR Park in Hyderabad on Sunday as sixteen charming Indie puppies found their new families at the ‘Indie Puppy Adoption Fair,’ organized by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
Out of twenty-seven playful pups showcased at the event, a heartwarming sixteen were officially adopted. Dr. Abdul Vakil, GHMC Chief Veterinary Officer, was present to personally hand over the puppies to their eager new owners. During his address, Dr. Vakil emphasized the importance of embracing these animals as cherished members of the family and commended the participants for opening their homes and hearts to the deserving street dogs.
The adoption fair drew a considerable crowd of enthusiastic dog lovers, all eager to meet and connect with the healthy, lively street puppies. GHMC officials highlighted that this initiative serves a dual purpose: to actively promote the adoption of wonderful Indian street dog breeds and to foster a culture of responsible pet ownership within the community. Senior officials including Deputy Director Chakrapani Reddy, Khairatabad veterinary assistant director Vivekanand, and veterinary officers Prasanna, Bhikya, and Sanjay Reddy also attended, demonstrating their support for this valuable cause.
