Alappuzha town is grappling with significant traffic congestion, a direct consequence of the ongoing reconstruction of the crucial District Court bridge. In response to this growing challenge, the Ambalappuzha Taluk Development Committee has stepped forward, proposing a series of alternative measures to alleviate the daily commute for residents and visitors alike.
During a vital meeting held on Saturday at the Ambalappuzha Taluk office, chaired by Tahsildar S. Anvar, the committee emphasized the urgent need for action. Key proposals included making the road through the Government Medical College compound at Vandanam fully motorable, which would offer a much-needed alternative route. Additionally, they pressed for the swift completion of the boundary wall around the Government Medical College Hospital, an infrastructure improvement deemed essential.
Beyond immediate traffic concerns, the committee also addressed another pressing local issue, advocating for appropriate compensation for fishermen who suffered losses due to damaged nets in a recent shipwreck incident.
