The vibrant city of Mysuru is brimming with anticipation as all arrangements are meticulously finalized for the spectacular inauguration of the Naada Habba Dasara festival at Chamundi Hills this Monday.
Esteemed Kannada writer Banu Mushtaq has been chosen to officially open the grand celebrations at the revered Chamundeshwari Temple. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled between 10:10 a.m. and 10:40 a.m., graced by the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and a host of other prominent leaders.
To mark this auspicious occasion, the Chamundeshwari Temple shines brightly, beautifully adorned with fresh flowers. The majestic processional idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari herself has been carefully polished, gleaming exquisitely for the ceremonial day.
Given some past political dissent regarding Banu Mushtaq’s selection for the inauguration by the BJP, security measures at the venue and along the routes to Chamundi Hills have been significantly enhanced. Despite the Karnataka High Court and Supreme Court dismissing petitions challenging her right to inaugurate, authorities are ensuring all precautions are taken for a completely peaceful and incident-free commencement of the festival.
Following the main Dasara inauguration, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will embark on a busy schedule, inaugurating several key events throughout the day. These include the delightful Flower Show at Kuppanna Park at 12:30 p.m., the flavorful Aahara Mela (food festival) at Maharaja’s College Ground at 1 p.m., thrilling traditional wrestling matches at the D. Devaraja Urs Multipurpose Stadium at 4 p.m., and the exciting State-level Dasara Sports at Chamundi Vihar Stadium at 5:30 p.m. The Chief Minister will conclude his inaugural duties by opening the popular Dasara Exhibition at 7:30 p.m.
Separately, the Minister for Kannada and Culture, Shivaraj S. Tangadagi, is set to inaugurate an inspiring art camp at the CAVA campus at 4 p.m., followed by a fascinating book exhibition at the Bharat Scout and Guides ground at 5 p.m.
Fitness enthusiasts can look forward to Yoga Dasara, commencing at J.K. Grounds at 5 p.m., to be inaugurated by Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dinesh Gundu Rao. As dusk settles, the city will come alive with dazzling lights; Minister for Energy K.J. George will switch on the spectacular illumination of Mysuru’s streets, circles, and iconic heritage buildings at 6:30 p.m.
Anticipating a massive influx of visitors and holidaymakers, Mysuru city police have implemented strict traffic regulations. A one-way system will be enforced on major roads leading to the palace to manage congestion effectively, and parking will be prohibited on both sides of central city roads to ensure unobstructed movement.
