HYDERABAD – In a significant move, the Telangana government has officially transitioned its State identification code from ‘TS’ to ‘TG’. This change has swiftly prompted the Hyderabad City Police to embark on an extensive refurbishment project for its vehicle fleet, proudly displaying the new ‘Telangana Police’ insignia.
Under the direct guidance of Director General and Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, a total of 188 government vehicles are currently undergoing this comprehensive update at the City Armed Reserve (CAR) Headquarters. The makeover isn’t just cosmetic; it includes the meticulous removal of old ‘TS’ stickers, the precise application of the vibrant new ‘TG’ decals, and vital additional maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
This wide-ranging effort, encompassing denting, fresh paint jobs, essential bumper and panel repairs, and a thorough machine polish, is estimated to incur a cost of approximately ₹1.6 crore.
Just this past Sunday, CAR officials successfully completed the stickering and refurbishment of 134 patrol vehicles. These revitalized vehicles were immediately recommissioned for duty, poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing crime prevention strategies, upholding law and order, and ensuring rapid emergency response capabilities throughout Hyderabad.
The transformation won’t stop there. Other crucial police vehicles, including those utilized by Traffic ACPs, Inspectors, Pilots, and Interceptors, are scheduled to undergo the same detailed process in the coming days. Alongside this upgrade, officials have also reinforced strict instructions to all drivers to maintain their vehicles in immaculate and proper working condition.
The CAR Headquarters, having meticulously overseen this initiative, confidently asserts that this updated and refreshed fleet will significantly bolster policing efforts and presence across the city, promising a more efficient and visible law enforcement.
