In a significant development, Indian Army personnel were involved in an intense exchange of fire with terrorists in the rugged forest terrain of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Official reports indicate that there were no immediate casualties on the Army’s side following the gunfight, which occurred in the Keshwan area.
The Army’s ‘White Knight Corps’ confirmed the incident via a post, stating, “Alert troops of White Knight Corps, at approximately 1 PM today, established contact with terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Kishtwar. Fire was exchanged with the terrorists, and the operation is currently in progress.”
Authorities further elaborated that the brief but intense encounter began when soldiers initiated a search operation in the forest, acting on credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants.
Reinforcements have since been deployed to the area, intensifying the ongoing search and cordon operation aimed at locating and eliminating the terrorists involved in this latest confrontation.
