As the festive season of Diwali approaches, the Sri Sathya Sai district administration is making it easier for vendors to obtain licenses for selling firecrackers. In a move towards a greener celebration, District Collector A. Shyam Prasad announced on Sunday, September 21st, that all applications for firecracker sales licenses must now be submitted online. This streamlined process ensures that everyone can enjoy Diwali safely and responsibly.
To apply, interested vendors should visit the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) portal at www.peso.gov.in and complete Form AE-5. You’ll need to upload proof of residence, five recent passport-size photographs, and pay a nominal fee of ₹500 through cfms.ap.gov.in. Remember, the deadline for submitting your completed application, along with three physical sets of documents, to the Collectorate’s Magisterial Section is September 30th, during working hours (10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
It’s important to note that only applications that have been thoroughly vetted and approved by both revenue and police officials will be considered. Furthermore, applicants must provide necessary documentation such as GST registration, a fire safety challan, and a No Objection Certificate (NOC). The Collector emphasized strict adherence to the National Green Tribunal guidelines, meaning only environmentally friendly “green crackers” will be permitted for sale. All previous licenses are invalid for this year, so ensure you apply for a new one to celebrate a bright and green Diwali!
