Harish Balayogi, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, and Rajya Sabha MP Sana Sathish Babu, extended a warm invitation to Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan. The invitation was for the much-anticipated Vijayawada Utsav, slated to commence on September 22.
According to a press release from the Vijayawada MP’s office, the primary goal of inviting the Vice-President is to spotlight Vijayawada’s considerable tourism potential, its deep cultural roots, profound historical narrative, and its esteemed spiritual prominence.
The delegation, comprising the Minister, MPs, and representatives from the ‘Society for Vibrant Vijayawada,’ met the Vice-President at his New Delhi residence. During the meeting, Mr. Sivanath respectfully honored Mr. Radhakrishnan with a traditional shawl.
Mr. Sivanath elaborated that the festival, a collaborative effort between the society and the tourism department, is designed to elevate the city’s unique cultural identity and local customs to a national platform. It also seeks to foster widespread community participation. In a positive response, Mr. Radhakrishnan assured his attendance and conveyed his full support for the festival’s success.
In a prelude to the main event, an engaging flash mob captivated the city’s residents on Saturday, building excitement for the utsav.
The MP’s office further detailed the diverse offerings of the festival, including specialized stalls spanning various sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, automobiles, and real estate.
A dedicated pavilion for agriculture, aquaculture, horticulture, dairy, and animal husbandry is expected to draw approximately 5 lakh farmers from both Telugu-speaking states. Academics and researchers from six universities will be on hand to answer farmers’ questions and offer expert advice. Exhibits will feature a wide array of modern farm machinery, innovative tools, high-quality seeds, animal feed, essential inputs, and food processing units.
The automobile pavilion will host 44 stalls showcasing everything from electric bikes and auto-rickshaws to cars, trucks, and ready-mix concrete vehicles. Esteemed brands like Hero, Honda, Hyundai, Mahindra, Toyota, MG, and Tata are confirmed participants in this expo.
Meanwhile, the real estate pavilion, featuring 73 stalls from 52 different companies, will offer expert guidance on construction and housing-related inquiries. Key players in housing finance, banking, electrical appliances, and home appliance sectors are also set to engage with attendees at this event.
