Gaganjeet Bhullar showcased his undeniable talent and unwavering focus, masterfully shooting a remarkable six-under 64 in the third and final round of the second IGPL golf tournament. This stellar performance earned him the champion’s cheque of ₹22.5 lakh at the prestigious Jaypee Greens Golf Resort on Friday.
Beginning the day five strokes behind overnight leader Kartik Singh, Gaganjeet delivered a performance close to his absolute best. He reached an impressive nine-under par before the final hole, effectively sealing his victory. Despite an unexpected three-putt on the 18th, he still emerged triumphant by a comfortable two-shot margin.
“Winning is always pleasing,” expressed a contented Bhullar, who had also claimed victory in the inaugural event last week in Chandigarh, highlighting his current winning streak. He also took a moment to praise the emerging young talent in the field, acknowledging their strong play.
Pukhraj Singh Gill climbed to an impressive second place with a six-under 208, finishing two shots ahead of the promising 16-year-old Kartik Singh. Gill received ₹15 lakh, while Singh took home ₹10.5 lakh for their excellent performances.
