In a significant boost for sports development across Tamil Nadu, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin officially laid the foundation for 11 state-of-the-art sports facilities. These ambitious projects represent a total investment of ₹49 crore, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering athletic talent and providing modern amenities for sportspersons.
Among the key locations benefiting from this initiative, Chennai will see major upgrades at its iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the popular Arignar Anna Swimming Pool, and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu’s campus in Mogappair. Beyond the capital, new facilities are slated for development in several other districts, including Dindigul, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvallur, and Tiruvannamalai. The virtual unveiling ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Ministers K.R. Periakaruppan, Ma. Subramanian, and P.K. Sekarbabu, along with Maduravoyal MLA K. Ganapathy and other senior government officials.
