In their final Group A encounter of the Asia Cup on Friday, September 19, 2025, India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and confidently chose to bat first against Oman.
The Indian squad underwent two strategic changes from their previous victory against Pakistan. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy were rested, making way for promising talents Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh.
Oman also adjusted their lineup, introducing Mohammed Nadeem, among others, as one of their two changes.
Following the toss, Captain Suryakumar expressed his keenness to test the team’s batting depth, noting it was their first opportunity to bat first in the tournament.
Having already secured their spot in the Super 4s by winning both their preceding group games, India was looking to maintain momentum and fine-tune their strategies.
