The Bannerghatta Biological Park is in mourning following the recent passing of Arjun, a magnificent 15-year-old male leopard, at its dedicated Rescue Centre.
In a poignant statement, officials from the Bannerghatta Biological Park expressed their profound sadness, announcing Arjun’s death on September 18. Arjun, who was born in 2010, was the offspring of leopards Niranjan and Saraswati, and a cherished resident of the park’s Rescue Centre.
A comprehensive postmortem examination was swiftly carried out to ascertain the cause of death. The findings indicated that Arjun succumbed to pyothorax and septicemia. Further detailed investigations are underway, with visceral samples having been dispatched to the IAH&VB Lab for thorough analysis.
