In a strong statement, the MRPS (Mala Mahanadu Revolutionary Party of India) has declared a “Chalo Delhi” protest for November 17th. This major rally aims to demand swift and decisive action against those responsible for the recent attack on Supreme Court Chief Justice B.R. Gavai, and to protest the non-registration of a case following the incident.
During a press conference held at the Somajiguda Press Club on Monday, MRPS founder president Manda Krishna Madiga voiced his profound disapproval regarding the delay in initiating legal proceedings against the assailant. He also raised serious questions about the silence from crucial institutions like the Delhi Police, the judiciary itself, and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Furthermore, Mr. Madiga accused certain media outlets of seemingly supporting the alleged attacker rather than focusing on the victim.
The MRPS is insistent on a thorough and impartial investigation, leading to appropriate action against all individuals involved in what they believe was a targeted attack. They emphasize that this incident not only harmed an individual but also struck at the heart of the Dalit community and the fundamental principles of the Indian Constitution. Mr. Manda Krishna also highlighted his concerns about potential biases within the judiciary and stressed the vital need for all institutions to strictly uphold the Constitution and the rule of law.
The MRPS is urging members of the Dalit community to join the “Chalo Delhi” rally in large numbers. Their collective presence will serve as a powerful demand for unwavering respect for the judiciary, robust protection of the Constitution, and the fundamental self-respect of the Dalit community.
