The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is thrilled to announce substantial cash rewards for its talented young athletes who excelled at the recently concluded third Asian Youth Games in Bahrain. India’s contingent showcased an impressive performance, bringing home a total of 48 medals from the prestigious continental event.
Under the new reward structure, gold medalists will each receive ₹5 lakh, silver medalists ₹3 lakh, and bronze medalists ₹2 lakh. Even athletes who secured fourth place will be recognized with ₹50,000 each. Furthermore, the dedication of the coaching staff will be rewarded, with coaches of medal-winning athletes each receiving ₹1,00,000. Special recognition is also being given to the kabaddi teams, with each team being awarded a collective prize of ₹10,00,000.
IOA president P.T. Usha expressed immense pride in the young athletes’ achievements. In an official statement, she highlighted that “Their achievements reflect the future of Indian sport and the potential that lies within our youth. The IOA remains fully committed to providing every possible support to nurture and develop this emerging talent.”
