A horrific incident has shaken the Kulkacherla area of Vikarabad district, Telangana, where a 42-year-old daily wage laborer is believed to have ended his life after tragically killing his wife, one of his daughters, and his sister-in-law. The devastating events, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, reportedly stemmed from prolonged domestic disputes and suspicions about his wife’s fidelity.
Authorities identified the individual as Vepuri Yadaiah. It’s reported that around 3 a.m., he attacked his wife, Alivelu (35), his daughters Aparna (13) and Shravani (10), and his sister-in-law, Hanumamma (40), using a knife inside their home. Tragically, his wife, Shravani, and sister-in-law Hanumamma succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Yadaiah subsequently took his own life by hanging.
According to Vikarabad SP K. Narayana Reddy, the elder daughter, Aparna, miraculously survived the assault. She managed to alert neighbors, who then promptly contacted the police, initiating an immediate response to the gruesome scene.
Investigations into the incident have revealed a history of severe marital conflict. Yadaiah, described by local residents as having antisocial tendencies, had been engaged in frequent quarrels with Alivelu for several years due to his suspicions regarding her character. Both Yadaiah and Alivelu were daily wage earners. Efforts had recently been made by village elders to mediate and resolve their long-standing disputes. Hanumamma, Alivelu’s sister, had arrived at their home specifically to help with this mediation and was planning to depart the following day.
Police have registered a case and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations as part of the ongoing investigation into this profound family tragedy.
