Kota, Rajasthan: A tragic road accident in Kota district has resulted in the deaths of two young students and injuries to ten others. The incident occurred on Saturday morning when a school van, carrying 12 students, collided with a Bolero and subsequently overturned. Authorities have confirmed that the van had a tire burst near Gota Road, leading to the catastrophic crash.

The deceased students have been identified as Tanu Nagar, 14, and Prisal Arya, 9. The local community quickly responded to rescue the children, transporting them to a nearby hospital. Sadly, six of the injured students were referred to Kota in serious condition, with further medical evaluations and potential transfers to Jaipur and Delhi being arranged as needed.
Following the incident, officials, including the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Kota, met with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and district administration. Preliminary investigations suggest the van was significantly overloaded, carrying 12 students when its approved capacity was only seven. This has intensified the focus on the safety standards and permits of school vehicles operating in the district. Education Minister Madan Dilawar and Collector Peeyush Samaris visited the accident site, assuring that a thorough police and district administration probe would be conducted, and necessary actions taken against those responsible.
