Karnataka’s Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development, Sharan Prakash Patil, has affirmed the State government’s profound commitment to cultivating a prosperous and comprehensively developed state.
Addressing attendees at the 70th Karnataka Rajyotsava celebration in Raichur’s Mahatma Gandhi Stadium on Saturday, Minister Patil emphasized the state’s rich heritage.
“Karnataka is a sacred haven that champions the protection of all faiths, the pursuit of truth, ethical governance, religious tolerance, communal harmony, coexistence, and unity,” the Minister stated.
He reflected on the historic unification of Kannada-speaking regions on November 1, 1956, which led to the formation of Mysore State, later renamed Karnataka under the visionary leadership of then Chief Minister D. Devraj Urs. Since this pivotal moment, Karnataka has experienced continuous progress and growth.
As Raichur district’s in-charge minister, Mr. Patil also announced that a fully operational airport would soon serve the region. He added that the State government has been actively pressing the Union government for the establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in Raichur, expressing optimism that a decision would be reached soon.
Addressing the challenges faced by the agricultural community, Minister Patil confirmed that a joint survey to assess crop losses is currently underway. He assured cotton farmers of dedicated support, noting that registration for selling cotton under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme is active, with prices set between ₹7,710 and ₹8,110 per quintal. He urged farmers to take full advantage of this scheme.
