Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a sharp attack on Saturday, November 1, 2025, accusing the NDA governments at both the central and state levels in Bihar of employing divisive political tactics and promoting a “fake nationalism” purely to secure electoral victories. Her allegations came during her inaugural campaign rally in Begusarai for this year’s Bihar Assembly elections.
During her address, Vadra asserted that Bihar is operating without a genuine “double-engine government,” implying that all significant decisions are dictated from Delhi. She didn’t hold back in her criticism of the BJP regarding the special intensive revision (SIR) of Bihar’s electoral rolls, arguing that the removal of voters’ names fundamentally violates citizens’ democratic rights.
“They first sow division among people, ignite conflicts, but when they fail to distract from real problems, they resort to stealing votes,” Vadra declared, directly targeting the BJP. She further commented that while BJP leaders frequently criticize historical figures like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, they conspicuously ignore pressing issues such as widespread unemployment and migration.
The Congress leader reiterated her stance that the NDA government is consistently relying on “divisive politics and propagating fake nationalism.” She lamented Bihar’s significant historical contributions to the nation, contrasting them with the state’s persistent underdevelopment. “Do not be swayed by the unfulfilled promises of the government in Bihar,” she urged the rally attendees.
Vadra concluded her address by highlighting the pervasive trend of privatization under NDA rule, alleging that “the Prime Minister has handed over major Public Sector Undertakings to his corporate allies.”
