Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, directed Srikakulam district officials and police to launch an immediate inquiry into the horrific stampede at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Kasibugga. The incident tragically resulted in the deaths of nine devotees.
The incident occurred at the Kasibugga temple, where nine lives were lost. Reports indicate the Venkateswara Swamy Temple owner has been booked on charges of ‘culpable homicide’.
Minister Naidu, who was in Bhopal, promptly canceled his official engagements to return to Srikakulam district and offer his condolences to the bereaved families. He spoke with Collector in-charge Farman Ahmed Khan via telephone, urging him to submit a preliminary report on the incident without delay.
