Kozhikode, India – In a decisive move to restore peace, District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh announced prohibitory orders on Friday, October 31, 2025. These orders, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, will cover a 300-meter radius around the Ambayathode slaughterhouse waste treatment facility.
Thamarassery police officials confirmed that the new directives prohibit all public protests and gatherings of four or more individuals within the designated area for a full week. This ban specifically extends to the Ambayathode junction, a key point in the vicinity.
The waste treatment plant, which had been non-operational for over a week, resumed its functions on Friday after receiving clearance from the District-level Facilitation and Monitoring Committee. Its closure followed a significant public protest on October 21, which unfortunately escalated into confrontations with law enforcement. These new measures aim to prevent any further escalation and ensure the smooth operation of essential services.
