On Friday morning, October 31st, several horses delivered standout performances during their exercise sessions in Pune, with Starlight Serenade, Encino, and Stormy Sea particularly impressing observers.
Morning Workouts (Inner Sand, October 31):
Over the 600m inner sand track, Foujita, ridden by Shahrukh, moved with ease, clocking 41 seconds. Two-year-old Dapple Dancer (Naveen) and Dancing Cloud (Shahrukh) also completed their runs comfortably in 42 seconds each.
In the 800m category, Between Friends (P. Dhebe) showed a nice stride, finishing in 50 seconds (600m in 37s). Stormy Sea, steered by Parmar, was particularly impressive, completing 800m in 50 seconds (600m in 35s). Lord And Master (Mosin) moved freely, timing 54 seconds (600m in 40s).
The 1000m drills saw Meadow Springs (Umesh) outpace Simola (Ritesh) by four lengths, clocking 1-9 (800m in 53s, 600m in 40s). Encino, with Santosh aboard, demonstrated excellent form, finishing in 1-5 (800m in 51s, 600m in 38s). Divine Star (apprentice) also worked well, completing in 1-7 (800m in 51s, 600m in 39s). A special highlight was the two-year-old Starlight Serenade (Vivek G), who truly excelled, posting an impressive 1-3 for 1000m (800m in 50s, 600m in 37s). Among other two-year-olds, Bravion (Parmar) finished well ahead of Phantom Strike (Vivek G), with both clocking 1-6 for 1000m (800m in 51s, 600m in 38s).
Redefined (Vivek G) responded well over 1200m, finishing in 1-21 (1000m in 1-6, 800m in 51s, 600m in 38s).
Evening Workouts (Inner Sand, October 30):
Looking back at the evening exercises on October 30th on the inner sand track: Star Impact (A. Gaikwad) moved well over 600m, timing 37 seconds. Two-year-old Nebula (T.S. Jodha) performed slightly better than Fay (P. Vinod), both completing in 41 seconds.
Over 800m, Mr. Brainwash (Prasad) was pressed, clocking 50 seconds (600m in 36s). Axlrod (T.S. Jodha) worked well, finishing in 50 seconds (600m in 37s), while Dream Alliance (Hamir) also moved nicely, timing 51 seconds (600m in 37s). Miracle Of Hanukah (A. Gaikwad) worked freely in 52 seconds (600m in 38s). Silver Braid (apprentice) had an easy run in 55 seconds (600m in 40s). Appalachian (T.S. Jodha) had an easy 1400m/600m run in 1-11, and Ataash (T.S. Jodha) also took it easy in 57 seconds (600m in 43s).
In the 1000m category, Regina Memorabilis (Hamir) moved attractively, finishing in 1-4 (800m in 49s, 600m in 36s). Fontana (Pranil) worked well, recording 1-6 (800m in 51s, 600m in 38s).
Tyrannus (Hamir) worked freely over 1200m in 1-22 (1000m in 1-7, 800m in 53s, 600m in 40s). Psychic Star (Vivek G) delivered an impressively swift run, clocking 1-20 for 1200m (1000m in 1-5, 800m in 50s, 600m in 37s).
Finally, in the 1400m category, Rosario (Vivek G) greatly impressed, finishing in 1-35 (1200m in 1-20, 1000m in 1-5, 800m in 50s, 600m in 37s). Duke Of Tuscany (Trevor) moved well in 1-37 (1200m in 1-22, 1000m in 1-7, 800m in 52s, 600m in 38s). Namiri (Trevor) had an easy 1-40 (600m in 40s) run, and Odysseus (Ajinkya) also moved freely, clocking 1-37 (1200m in 1-22, 1000m in 1-7, 800m in 52s, 600m in 40s).
