The Guntur District Police recently hosted a special ‘Open House’ exhibition at the Police Function Hall. This event was designed to give students a comprehensive look into the department’s operations and its vital role in ensuring public safety across the region.
Held as part of the annual Police Martyrs’ Week, the initiative aimed to build a stronger connection with the youth and highlight the dedicated, service-oriented nature of police work.
During the program, Guntur District Superintendent of Police, Vakul Jindal, emphasized that a primary goal of the ‘Open House’ was to educate students on the diverse services police provide to the community, far beyond just maintaining law and order.
Superintendent Jindal elaborated on how these interactive events help the younger generation grasp the complex daily challenges faced by police officers. He noted that it also offers them a unique chance to inspect the various tools, equipment, and even some of the weapons utilized by the force in their duties.
Such programs, the SP highlighted, are crucial for fostering public trust and inspiring students to recognize the police as a cornerstone of social service and sacrifice. These direct interactions are key to strengthening community-police relations, instilling values of discipline, courage, and civic responsibility in young minds.
Students at the event were thrilled to explore a variety of exhibits demonstrating cutting-edge policing techniques and equipment. This included up-close views of body-worn cameras, advanced CCTV surveillance units, specialized riot control gear, and an innovative Locked House Monitoring System designed to deter thefts while residents are away.
