A significant stride towards enhancing legal and professional education has been made as the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) and the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) in Kochi officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This landmark agreement sets the stage for a robust framework of academic and professional collaboration across vital domains of law, taxation, and customs administration.
The core objective of this partnership is to foster extensive joint initiatives in research, specialized training, and dynamic academic exchanges. These collaborative efforts will focus on critical fields including customs law, Goods and Services Tax (GST), international trade law, and the challenging realm of narcotics control. The MoU will also pave the way for a variety of interactive programs such as insightful guest lectures, practical workshops, shared access to invaluable research resources, and the production of collaborative publications, as detailed in an official release.
The formal signing ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, saw the presence of key dignitaries. Lina Acca Mathew, Registrar of NUALS, and Rajeswari R. Nair, Additional Director of NACIN, formalized the agreement. They were joined by Prof. G.B. Reddy, the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of NUALS, and Minu Pramod, the Additional Director General of the NACIN Zonal Training Institute, highlighting the importance of this institutional alliance.
