Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a brief but significant visit to Tripura on September 22. The highlight of his trip will be the inauguration of the newly expanded and redeveloped facilities at the renowned Tripura Sundari Temple, located in Udaipur, the administrative center of Gomati district.
In preparation for this high-profile event, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha personally oversaw the arrangements in Udaipur. This extensive redevelopment project at the Tripura Sundari Temple, one of India’s 51 sacred Shakti Peethas, has been generously funded by the Central Government. The temple itself boasts a rich history, originally founded by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya in 1501.
Officials emphasize that the core objective of this modernization effort is to significantly enhance religious tourism in the region. The comprehensive project includes a range of upgraded amenities designed to improve the visitor experience. These new facilities encompass enhanced civic amenities, comfortable lodging options, convenient restrooms, ample parking lots, an inspiring open gallery, and a variety of eateries.
As part of the logistical preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit, Chief Minister Saha also inspected a newly constructed helipad at the OTPC Power Project in Palatana. The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes arriving at MBB Airport in Agartala, from where he will take a helicopter directly to Udaipur.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi is slated to offer prayers at the historic temple. It has been confirmed that he will not be addressing any public gatherings, focusing solely on the ceremonial inauguration and religious observance.
